Matt.4:1-5:48
Chapter 4 Continued
Matt.4:11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.12 Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee.13 And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali,14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:15 “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles:16 The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.”
4:11-16 T hen the devouring accuser leaves him: and behold, angels approaching and ministering to him. And Yah Shua hears that Yah Chanan is shelemed and he departs to Gelila:and leaving Nasrath Deuteronomy 8:3;Psalm 91:11, 12 Deuteronomy 6:16 he comes and inhabits in Kephar Nachum upon the hand of the sea in the coasts of Zebaulaun and Naphtali: to fulfill what was worded through the hand of Yesha Yah the prophet, wording, The earth of Zebaulaun and the earth of Naphtali by the way of the sea, across Yurdenan, Gelila of the peoples: The people sitting in darkness see a great light: and whoever sits in the place and the shadow of death, light shines to them. John 9:1, 2 Aramaic NC
RELATED SCRIPTURES:
Isaiah 9:2The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined.
Isaiah 60:1-2 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.
Matt.4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”( SAME MESSAGE AS JOHN THE BAPTIST)
4:7 YAH SHUA PREACHES, REPENT! From then, Yah Shua begins to preach and to word, Repent! For the sovereigndom of the heavens approaches. Aramaic NC
A.Definiton of Repentance: The Greek word is Metatonia. The Hebrew word for repentance is teshubah, from shub, to return. Return to what?
Repent means to change the way you think, return to the mind of Christ. But a better way to say it, is to change the way you see. What if you realized that God is really good? (It is the goodness of God that leads a man to repentance).
B. Kingdom at hand- here right now, tangible.
Matt 4:18-23 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him.21 Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them,22 and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.
4:18-23 YAH SHUA CALLS KEPHA AND ANDREWAS
And when walking about he hand of the sea of Gelila, He sees two brothers, Shimun who is called Kepha and Andrewas his brother casting a net into the sea — for they have been fishers: and Yah Shua words to them, Come after me: and I work that you be fishers of humanity. — and they straightway leave their nets and go after him.
YAH SHUA CALLS YAAQUB AND YAH CHANAN
And when he passes over from there he sees two other brothers — Yaaqub of Zabedai and Yah Chanan his brother in a sailer with Zabedai their father preparing their nets: and he calls them: — and they straightway leave the sailer and their father and go after him. And Yah Shua is going around in all Gelila — doctrinating in their congregations, and preaching the evangelism of the sovereigndom and healing every affliction and sickness of the people: Aramaic NC
A.JESUS WENT TEACHING, PREACHING AND HEALING (IN THAT ORDER)
B.JESUS PREACHED THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM
a. What is the Gospel of the Kingdom?
b. The gospel of the kingdom is the whole complex of promises that God makes to those who are redeemed through Christ. The gospel of the kingdom includes the gospel of the cross plus all the promises of God.
1)Components of the Gospel of the Kingdom:
· It is the declaration of the kingdom of God together with the means of entering it.
· It is so much more than we learned in traditional Christianity. It is not a gospel of being saved from hell to go to heaven. The gospel of the Kingdom is not for after you die, but “the Kingdom of Heaven is within you now.” Most Christians do not realize what they inherit when they call on the name of Jesus and know they are born of the Spirit from the beginning. Multitudes of people sit with the seed of God on the inside of them, yet they haven’t found the way to enter into the presence and spirit of God within them. They do not know how to escape the corruption that is in the world; they cannot get free from the lusts of the flesh and the pride of life. The gospel of the Kingdom will set you free and enable you to live godly in this present evil age. Christ in you, the hope of glory!
· It is the living and abiding Word of God will divide you, and separate you, and purify you, and give you a clear and proper understanding of the Kingdom of God in you, not someday, but today.
· It is to have the King himself born within your heart. The life of the King, the zoe life of God, the nature and character of God coming alive within your consciousness.
· It is not based on what you do, but on who you are. The gospel of the kingdom is not what you can do for God, but who you are! The Word was written to reveal to you who you are in Christ from the beginning and who He is in you.
· It is signs following. Jesus preached the gospel of the kingdom and He expressed that. Preaching, teaching and healing.
“Now after John [the Baptist] was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand.
Matthew 24:14: “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
Matt. 4:23-24 names all manner of sickness and disease.
Jesus’ Ministry of healing as described in Matt. 4:23‑24
Matthew 4:23-24 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. 24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
4:23-24 And Yah Shua is going around in all Gelila— doctrinating in their congregations, and preaching the evangelism of the sovereigndom and healing every affliction and sickness of the people: and his fame is heard in all Suriya: and they offer him all evil who are evilly worked and his fame is heard in all Suriya: and they offer him all evil who are evilly worked with diverse sickness and with oppressed torments — demonized and lunatic and paralytic: and he heals them. Aramaic NC
Matt. 4:25 Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.25 Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.
4:25 and his fame is heard in all Suriya: and they offer him all evil who are evilly worked with diverse sickness and with oppressed torments — demonized and lunatic and paralytic: and he heals them. And going after him are many congregations of people from Gelila and from Esrat Medinata and from Uri Shelem and from Yah Hud and from across Yurdenan. Aramaic NC

B. Jesus is Alive, the Same, He heals them ALL. He still heals every kind of sickness and disease. This is what Jesus taught in relation to healing. Jesus went about doing good and healing all.
Acts 10:38 “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Note: the Word says all.
Also, notice that healing and deliverance were at many times synonymous.
C. We must realize that Jesus demonstrated and taught some on healing. While many of Jesus teachings can apply to healing, we have very little direct teaching relating specifically to the Scripture. However, we are told that He did three things in all the cities and villages.
D.TEACHING, PREACHING AND HEALING.
Matthew 9:35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
We will describe the components of the gospel of the kingdom in the next lesson.
Teaching, preaching, and healing were the priorities of Jesus’ ministry. The church in the United States understands and practices the priorities of teaching and preaching. However, the priority of healing and healing ministry seems neglected in many places.
We will continue with Les.2 next week.
