Heavens Courts
Bonnie Nelson
(Part One)

Recently someone asked me if I knew anything about the “Courts of Heaven?” I said no, but immediately I set out to find answers. Yahweh knows I am an extremely nosy person, especially when it concerns Him and how His Kingdom affects me. I continue to ask Him daily to teach me of His ways and when He drops something in front of me, I consider it an answer to my prayer, a challenge, a blessing and an honor to seek out His Mysteries.

The Courts of Heaven subject certainly quickened my spirit and set me on an expedition through Scriptures and guess what I found? There are other believers, just like me who have been trying to find information about the Courts of Heaven and wondering if they might be a key to some of our unanswered prayers. Could it be the revelation of the Courts of Heaven is being revealed now to help those who have been standing and praying over their prayers for years?

I even found some people who say they have already entered the Courts of Heaven and experienced breakthroughs in their prayers needs…..Now I really want know more about these Courts.

I am pretty sure some of you might already be scoffing at the idea of the Courts in Heaven, but we have courts on earth, so why not in heaven? Maybe Yahweh is trying to teach us about a different level of warfare, not on an earthly battlefield or against flesh and blood, but against spiritual enemies in the legal system in Heaven, where we can not only stand in the gap for others in prayer here on earth, but also get a decree in our favor through the judicial system in the Courts in Heaven where Yahweh is on the Throne.

On earth we have many levels of courts and councils and each has a special purpose. Where did that concept come from? Who is to say God didn’t impose a moral government and laws on the earth to match their counterpart in heaven? We enter courts here on earth when we have disagreements, which cannot be settled between parties in order to seek a judgment in our favor and defend what is ours.

Could it be this is a shadow of what we are required to do “spiritually” in the courts of heaven as well – present our case and defend ourselves? I don’t know of anyone nowadays who doesn’t need a spiritual breakthrough for something and a lot of folks have been standing, proclaiming, declaring, warring and praying for years over their prayers for Healing, Deliverance, Finances, Family issues, Jobs and more.

What about you? Have all your prayers been answered? If not, haven’t you wondered why you are not getting more answers for your prayers? Have you pondered on what you are missing, or not doing, to see the “Yes and Amen” answers to your prayers. Where are all the signs, wonders and miracles we saw Jesus do? Sure, we get a few here and there, thank You Father, but we need more.

Maybe we are not spiritual enough or holy enough? Do we need to pray more, fast more, get more faith, be more righteous? We must be lacking something because, we all know God wants to heal, deliver and answer every single one of our prayers. He is certainly powerful enough to just say the Word and zap it will be done in a second. So what’s up? How do we get the breakthrough?

I have been told God always answers prayer in one way or the other and His Responses can be: Yes, No, Just Wait, Not Yet – Keep Waiting and of course, there is: you ask amiss, we pray wrong, so our prayers are not answered.

Could it possibly be those are not really all the reasons for the unanswered prayers gathering dust on the shelves? Could it be the answers to our prayers are being held up because, we lack the spiritual revelation concerning a judicial system in Heaven and how it operates in regard to our prayer life here?

If there are heavenly courts, are they just for the affairs in heaven, or are they connected to our affairs on earth? Can we actually enter these courts and legally battle for our breakthrough for every area of our life, our family, friends, our Nation and maybe even the world?

In Hosea 4:6 God says, “My people are “destroyed” for a lack of knowledge.”

Could it be there are battles being raged right now between the forces of good and evil in heavens before the Throne of Grace in the Courts of Heaven? What if it concerns you and me? If so, shouldn’t we know what the charges are against us and most of all, shouldn’t we be there? Do we have the right to be there? YES WE DO!

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the Throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

I have never thought about God’s Throne of Grace being in a courtroom setting. Have you? I guess I just assumed (always dangerous), God was sitting on His Throne taking care of things in heaven. I didn’t get the revelation, the understanding – this was a place I needed to enter and defend myself over accusations being hurled against me from Satan and his crew before the Throne.

The Bible reveals through Old Testament Prophets and New Testament Apostles an interaction between Yahweh as a Judge and entering into the Courts of Heaven. That means the idea of interacting with God as a Judge and the Courts of Heaven is not new, even though I just learned about them.

Accident, Coincidence? I don’t think so. I sense Yahweh is pouring out knowledge and revelation. He wants us to know how to get our breakthroughs in things we are dealing with. With so many crying out for so long, His compassion has to be on overload, but I also sense He is trying to reveal His Ways, His Government and the way it works to us to bring us ease and the victory.

Look at what Yahweh said in Isaiah 55. He reminds us about His Ways being different from ours. In verses 6-9 Notice the judicial language used.

6) Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.
7) Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him;
And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

8)For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.
9) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

All of us need to be wise and get an understanding of the “higher ways of our LORD,” especially regarding the process of going into the courts of heaven to get judgments, which will allow us the legal right (verdict) to get the victory in our prayers quickly.

In our court system, getting a verdict gives us legal rights. If it is a judgment where we receive a house and someone else is living in it, the whole system of law is behind us. A policeman goes to the house and tells the people there to leave. The whole system of law enforcement is behind him. He carries out the verdict from the Judge for us.

Note: There is no binding, screaming, rebuking and such in a courtroom. Everything is done decently and in an orderly fashion – according to the codes and the LAW. If a disruption of this sort happens, people are removed from the courtroom. This is not the place for that type of warfare. Are you hearing me? Spiritual warfare in the heavens is different from spiritual warfare on earth, for we do not war against flesh and blood and our weapons are not carnal.

It is said Satan is a legalist, well that means Yahweh has set laws in place Satan has to follow and it is safe to say Yahweh has to adhere to those laws as well. Do we know what the laws are in the heavenly courts?

If a policeman steps out into the middle of an intersection and raises his hand symbolizing “stop,” everyone will stop, because he represents the system of laws which are set in place in our Nation.

In the same manner, if we enter into the Courts of Heaven and the Judge grants us the verdict for whatever we are dealing with spiritually in our favor, All of Heaven is behind that verdict and what if it is something that has been causing us to be sick, that spirit has to get out. Think about Joshua. Satan came against him, but God, the Judge, told Satan to back off and so it was.

So, how come no one is talking or teaching about this stuff? Are people afraid to think on God as a Judge, even though the Bible is full of terms relating to a judicial system with a Judge, court rooms, councils, witnesses, mediators, decrees, books, scrolls and of course, an accuser who not only roams to and fro trying to find someone to mess with, but also accusing the brethren day and night before the Throne.

When I asked questions about heavenly things a lot of people will just say, “These are spiritual things and we will not understand them until we get to heaven.” Have you heard that? Anyway…….I want to know more about God’s Throne and The Courts in Heaven NOW, so here we go. I pray there will be a witness in your spirit regarding how important it is to grasp what God is trying to show us in His Word about the Courts of Heaven, in order for us to walk in power and the fullness of His Spirit on earth.

God As A Judge
In The Scriptures

In the bible, there are many words used for God. There are words that describe His nature and words that describe His functions. Here the word used for “God” is the Greek word “theos”, meaning “magistrate” or “divine judge.”

There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. James 4:12

Psalm 7:11 God is an honest and righteous judge.

The idea of interacting with God as a Judge, or? Of entering into the Courts of Heaven is not a new notion. Both the Old Testament Prophets and The New Testament Apostles wrote from this concept.

Isaiah in Chapter 33:22, uses the word “shaphat,” a Hebrew word for the word LORD, which means, “one who decides controversies and renders judgment”.

Isaiah 33:22 For the LORD (Yahweh) is our Judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king, and He will save us.

And there is more. The Hebrew word for “lawgiver” is “chaqaq,” which means “one who issues decrees.”

If we look at Job: Remember Satan appeared in the courtroom seeking permission (legal right) to harm Job. However, in Job 13:18, something happened, because Job says: “now I have prepared my case, I know that I will be vindicated.” Evidently Job got a revelation of what was happening to him, because of courtroom procedure.

I wonder what would have happened if he would have gotten the revelation and prepared his case for the court before the boils and death were released against him? Selah (Think About It).

I trust God, as the Judge in heaven, will bring forth a fair and lawful decision for me, if I am being accused of something in the Court of Heaven, but what if I, like Job, haven’t prepared my case?

Right now, not only have I not prepared my case, I don’t even have a clue of what my case is and/or how to prepare it. Matter of fact, I don’t know anything about what has been spoken against me or how to get into the Courts of Heaven.

So I am pressing in to “ask” and “hear Yahweh” about this matter and seeking out the Scriptures and teachers who can help me get the revelation and spiritual understanding I need regarding the Courts of Heaven. I know I could perish for lack of knowledge, but God……..

Already, He is revealing things to me and honoring my prayers to understand. How many of you know, Yahweh God is really on our side and seeking ways to communicate with us, even if it has to be delivered through the words of a donkey?

Satan is no dummy and I am sure he has had a lot of practice accusing all of us before God’s Throne and will use every legal option possible to rob, steal and destroy the plans God has written in my book for me.

I am ready and open to learn (receive) about the Courts in Heaven. Teach me Father of Your Ways and open up my ability to understand the wiles of my enemy and the procedures in Your Heavenly Courts. For You said Father You would not have me ignorant of the ways of my enemies.
So that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes. 2 Cor 2:11

And, I certainly don’t want to be ignorant of the Ways of My God Yahweh. So, are the courts and councils in Heaven Biblical? Is there a Scriptural Basis & Precedent For The Courts of Heaven? Yes!
