FS WORD OF POWER

With borders closing, schools closing and entire countries closing down one might think that things are hopeless. But this morning I heard the Lord say: “Don’t throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. 36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” (Hebrews 10:35-36) What is the will of God right now? To NOT lose HOPE! Instead of focusing on the negative i.e. the Corona virus, let us focus on what God says in His Word: Have faith, trust Me and focus on Me!
King David often times found himself in a lot of trouble. He was attacked by enemy forces. He was persecuted by his father-law King Saul. He was rejected by his own family and was constantly engaged in battle waring against enemy forces seemingly greater than he. And yet: King David prayed and worshiped God. He shared his heart with the one who could help.
In Psalm 121 he cries out: “I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. 3 He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.”
Today I would like to remind you, that things are NOT hopeless because our help comes from the Lord and therefore, we have HOPE.
A few lines from the book of Lamentations (3:22-33) uttered by the prophet Jeremiah give us even more HOPE:
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. Lamentations 23 – 26 – 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”25 The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;26 it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
When a biblical writer says, “God is my portion,” he means that God is the source of his happiness and blessing. He is content with all that the Lord is and provides. He has the best inheritance imaginable and does not seek any possession or comfort outside of God. Riches, honor, friends and fame; nothing is as valuable as the promises of God. “My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” (Psalm 73:26, NASB).
No matter what happens, we can HOPE in Him. The Lord is our portion forever. Never, ever lose hope.
